  1. I’m shocked Poonam and very sad after what I heard. Dicky is very special and loved by us all. Want to be with you. Thinking about everything. Love you

  2. Poonam… I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of Aditya… Just like a lot of people from many places across the whole World will be reeling from the shock and sadness of his passing… He made a hugely positive impact for others throughout his life … he certainly did for me and for Samantha… I’ll never forget the times I spent with him late into the night in the Ranthambhore Bagh Gardens .. Such a great sense of humour and a naturally good guy!.. I have always hoped that I could get back to India and see you all again… Or that you all could’ve come over to see us at our home in Croatia… Alas that can’t happen now.. Do take care Poonam I wish I could say and do something more positive at this time… Rest in Peace Aditya… you Legend of a man!… Love from Roy …😞😞😞

  3. When I started as a wildlife photographer, I asked him via email to advise me on how to improve my photography. He asked me to send my best 20 images with full exif details, so that he can review them accordingly. This was the advice he gave me that really improved my photography and helped me win several awards over the years, “ The first thing one has to get right is sharpness. Every picture has to be tack sharp unless you purposely blurred it.”
This was the only communication I had with him, unfortunately I was never able to meet him in person.
He must have helped so many people in his lifetime, which I take as an inspiration to move forward.

My deepest condolences to his family and friends.
May his soul rest in peace.

  4. I’m immensely proud of all your incredible achievements and grateful our paths crossed on this not-so-long, but definitely strange trip. I miss you, my friend! Boom!

  5. Dear Aditya, you’ve left all of us orphaned, but who are we to determine another traveler’s destiny. thank you Dicky for blessing the planet and lesser mortals like us with your divine and graceful inspiration in our lives. Bhai the planet is orphaned. Poonam Singh take heart my dear, this comes as a rather rude shock. We cannot forget the magical moments of the mad journalists trip in November 2005 to your resort … My Dear Diky, you are in a better place I hope. Keep smiling always. The lives of the animals youve touched will take care of you forever…

  6. Time spent with Dicky was always a deeply positive experience and one that you would anticipate with excitement, weeks before the time of your meeting. Endlessly funny, insightful and deeply knowledgeable, Dicky never failed to entertain, encourage and inspire you, with every single meeting.

I always felt deeply privileged to visit Ranthambhore and a huge part of that was down to Dicky and his wonderful family. Those three adventures I had in India were life changing and life affirming and I’ll always be eternally grateful for them. I know my wife, Charlotte, felt the very same feelings during our last trip to stay with the family in March of this year. The memories will last a lifetime.

Our deepest condolences and love to Poona and Nyra xxx

  7. Dicky

If tears could build a stairway
    And memories were a lane
We would walk right up to Heaven
    And bring you back again
    No farewell words were spoken
    No time to say goodbye
You were gone before we knew it
    And only God knows why
Our hearts still ache in sadness
    And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
    No one will ever know
But now we know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store
    Since you’ll never be forgotten
    We pledge to you today
A hallowed place within our hearts
    Is where you’ll always stay
Keep protecting the tigers from where you are up high
Guide the next generation from your place in the sky

    Gone from our sight
Never from our memories or our hearts xx

  8. I met Aditya during the Kids for Tigers’ camp and can never forget his hospitality and warmth. Over the years during all my interactions, he so generously shared his photographs with Sanctuary and he was always my go to contact on anything Ranthambhore and tourism. So valued his inputs. So sad to hear about his passing away but his legacy is immeasurable. Loads of love to Poonam and Nyra

  9. Poonam
Dicky was one of those rare individuals who was able to enrich the lives of all those he met. His passion for his family, conservation, tigers and photography made him a terrific host and safari/photographic guide. I was privileged to have met and spent time with him on a couple of photographic trips. My condolences to you, Nyra and family. Kia Kaha.
